Over this past weekend, Kanye West proved why he deserved Footwear News’ “Shoe of the Year” award.
The Yeezy Boost 950 was made available in limited edition runs online and in retail stores. The Boost 950’s sold out within hours of its debut, with heads shelling out $585 bucks for a pair of the men’s, or $625 for the women’s.
And it’s not just the 950’s that are flying off the shelves.
According to Footwear News, Philip Browne sold out of the boots, camo T-shirt, and hoodies in 15 minutes both online and at its location in London.
It’s only going to get better for Kanye.
Next month, eager fans will snap up the latest additions of the Yeezy Boost 350’s, which go on sale November 14.
The rapper’s designs have excited fashion maverick Alexander Wang, who already has a pair of the upcoming 350’s.
Kanye gifted a pair to Alexander Wang, who keeps tabs on how many times he has worn his precious Yeezy Boosts.
“Kanye has been very generous in gifting me. I love them. I wear them all the time,” Alexander Wang told Footwear News at the 2015 ACE Awards. “But you’re like, ‘Oh my gosh.’ I’m not very precious with my shoes. I go anywhere with them, but with the Yeezys, I calculate the number of times I wear them, so I don’t ruin them too quickly. I love all of them. He has an amazing color palette, so it’s too hard to pick a favorite color.”
Speaking of color palette, Kanye’s wife, Kim Kardashian West and her sister Kourtney sent the rumor mill spinning a few days ago in regards to the next colorways for the Yeezy Boosts.
Both women showed pics on their Instagram accounts highlighting what could be a new colorway from Kanye and Adidas for the Boosts that’s called “Moonrock.”
As previously reported, Kanye’s Yeezy Boost has earned the rapper/designer “Shoe of the Year” at 2015 FN Achievement Awards this December. The awards have been dubbed the “Oscars” of the footwear world.
