Former President Barack Obama Gets Real With Students In His First Speech Since Leaving Office

||

In his first appearance since leaving office, former President Barack Obama spoke at a panel including six top community leaders in the Chicago area.

His words of wisdom for the upcoming generation of change makers did not fall on deaf ears at the University of Chicago, earlier today (April 24).

Many of the students and faculty in attendance work closely with the community as Obama did, prior to his foray into public office.

“The single most important thing I can do is to help in any way I can to prepare the next generation of leadership to take up the baton and to take their own crack at changing the world.” – Former President of The United States – Barack Obama

Obama openly admitted that he did not “set the world on fire” in his time as a community organizer, yet the experience taught him that people could come together to do extraordinary things, that one ordinary person could never achieve alone.

The former commander-in-chief has been on an extended vacation with his wife Michelle since the two left the stresses of everyday public life.

During his talk, it was clear Obama and current President Donald Trump do not see eye to eye on many of the policy changes that affect every day Americans.

It is good to see that the first black president in the history of United States is still in good spirits despite the first hundred days of Donald Trump’s presidency.

President Obama may be the single most important political figure that can reach into the core of urban audiences and inspire young people to become whatever they dream to be and affect the world with positive change.
