Rapper Goldlink Helps Thousands of Students and Makes His Dad Proud

Washington, DC-based rapper GoldLink is already making his career a family affair.

GoldLink is a 23-year-old rapper, who is on the come up, to say the least.

His debut mixtape The God Complex was released to critical acclaim, as was his second offering And After That, We Didn’t Talk.

Goldlink’s latest album At What Cost features the likes of Shy Glizzy and KAYTRANADA and is buzzing enough that it landed him on a major tour with Little Dragon this summer.

But before GoldLink hits the road, he is linking up with thousands of students in his hometown of D.C.,through a partnership with the local parks and recreation department.

GoldLink is the headliner of the Smile Project Carnival and Concert, which is sponsored by Broccoli City and Universal Fairs at RFK Festival Grounds in DC.

“With there being so many concerts, and festivals coming out, Broccoli City and GoldLink wanted to do something for people who may not be able to afford to go to the bigger events. We wanted to do something for the community and GoldLink and his team felt the same way.” – Broccoli City co-founder Brandon McEachern

It’s especially important to GoldLink to give back to the community that made him. The rapper also has a deeper connection, since his father was a Parks and Recreation employee of the city.

Over 1500 students will attend the June 3 concert for free.
