This Documentary Goes Deep Explaining Hip-Hop's Caribbean Roots

The roots of hip-hop music are explored in a new documentary called “Hip Hop DNA: Breaking Down The Caribbean’s Impact On The Culture.
It is pretty common knowledge that one of Hip-Hop’s fore-fathers, Kool Herc, hailed from Jamaica and brought his soundsystem to the South Bronx, where he did parties in local parks and sparked a revolution in music.
But, as this documentary shows, the Caribbean has influenced Hip-Hop on many levels, from the fashion and hairstyles, to the music itself.
Artists like Nicki Minaj, Fat Joe, Party Next Door, Busta Rhymes, KRS-One and many other of today’s popular artists can trace their lineage directly back to the Caribbean.
