Pharrell Williams has proven himself to be more than just an amazing musician, incredible songwriter, and talented producer.
Now he will receive a doctorate of fine arts degree, honoris causa, from New York University, since he was an artist in residence at Tisch School of Arts last year.
Williams will address the other graduates and guests on behalf of all the degree recipients at NYU’s 185th Commencement Exercises which will be held Wednesday, May 17, 2017 in Yankee Stadium.
Pharrell Williams has received 11 Grammy awards and is a two-time Academy award nominee.
His most recent accomplishment includes the incredible success of the film he produced, Hidden Figures.
Other honorary degree recipients includes the head of the Centers for Disease Control, Thomas R Frieden, winner of Nobel Prize For Chemistry, Jean-Marie Pierre Lehn, Maryland Senator Barbara A. Mikulski, Author Melissa V Harris-Perry, Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffors, and NASA astronaut, Mark Kelly.
