The RZA and Wu-Tang Clan are known for their avid love of the martial arts.
So it’s a bit of a surprise to see that RZA is backing boxer Floyd Mayweather, in his upcoming bout with Conor McGregor on August 26.
In an interview with Montreality, RZA said he is supporting Floyd Mayweather, although he warned the box or not to take Conor’s martial arts skills lightly.
“For our generation Floyd Mayweather is the greatest. I want Floyd to win, I’m rooting for him, but I don’t like the fact that he put his legacy on the line for a MMA fighter,” RZA explained.
According to RZA, MMA fighters have a much different punch than a traditional boxer.
“Floyd should definitely be prepared for the power of a martial artist. A martial artist has a snapping punch with a little bit of extra Chi.”
