Jay Rock Featuring J. Cole – “OSOM“
Nickerson Gardens’ finest, Jay Rock, finally released his album Redemption. There are 13-tracks on this impressive album from the West Coast native. But “OSOM” is the standout single from The Redemption. “OSOM” is an acronym for out of mind out of sight. Jay Rock drops a dope verse explaining how life was difficult before he got a deal and how he needs to keep away from those fake friends. J Cole has the same problems now that he is world famous.
Mike Shinoda Featuring blackbear – “About You”
Linkin Park group member Mike Shinoda is back with a new release Post Traumatic. This is his first effort since the death of fellow group member Chester Bennington in July of 2017. Mike came through with 16 songs on Post Traumatic, but “About You” featuring blackbear is the standout single. This track is about self centered people, over a surprisingly thumping trap beat.
2 Chainz Featuring Quavo And Drake – “Bigger Than You”
Rap star 2 Chainz hopes to have the anthem of the summer with this single, and with these two major rappers he has a good shot with “Bigger Than You.” The Atlanta native tapped Quavo, and Drake to deliver a hard-hitting single we’re all three MCS deliver standout versus with a decent hook.
Lecrae – “Plugged In”
Lecrae checks in with a new single featuring Atlanta trap star OJ the Juiceman. On “Plugged In,” Lecrae’s plug is much greater than any man in the streets, or on Earth. Lecrae maybe a Grammy award-winning gospel rapper, but he’s definitely looking for mainstream success while walking a fine line with Street oriented lyrics mixed with spirituality. This track is taken from his upcoming album with zaytoven titled Let The Trap Say, which is due in July.
Christina Aguilera Featuring Ty Dolla $ign & 2 Chainz – “Accelerate”
It’s hard to believe there is a standout hip-hop single or an album by Christina Aguilera. But the songstress delivered with her latest album, Liberation and on Accelerate, Christina teams up with Ty Dolla $ign and 2 Chainz to deliver the standout single “Accelerate.”
