This Is The Secret Meaning Behind Kanye West's New Album Title

Kanye West recently dropped his eighth studio album, Ye.
The seven-track efforts is getting mixed reviews with some critics labeling it a solid effort, and others panning the release.
Regardless of one’s opinion, Kanye’s two-letter album title really has nothing to do with his name.
By dropping the first three letters in his name, the Chicago rap star came up with a clever way to shift the attention away from himself and to the audience he is attempting to reach.
The album title is a nod to the Bible. The word “Ye” is one of the most used terms in the religious text and means “you.”
“It was used mainly to refer to more than one person as the subject of the sentence (with you as the object),” according to the Oxford Dictionary. “One person was referred to as thou or thee, though some dialects use thee for both.”
Kanye expounded upon the issue during an interview from his listening session for Ye in Wyoming last week.
“I believe ‘Ye’ is the most commonly used word in the Bible and in the Bible, it means ‘you,'” Kanye West explained. “So its I’m you, I’m us. It’s us. It went from being Kanye, which means the ‘only one’ to just ‘Ye,”…being a reflection of our good our bad our confused, everything. I’m just more reflection of who we are.”
