Marshmello and Fortnite set a new milestone in gaming and music by collaborating on one of the largest-ever digital gatherings in history.
The “live” digital concert from the famed DJ lasted just over 10 minutes, but drew upwards of 10 million attendees, according to initial estimates.
Nielsen Music tracked the immediate consumer response to Marshmello’s performance and also investigated the relationship between Music and Esports among consumers.

1. On-Demand Video streams of Marshmello & Ookay’s “Chasing Colors” were up 22,547% with a unit lift of nearly 6 Million streams on Saturday, Feb. 2, compared to the prior day.
2. Sales of “Chasing Colors” were up 1,543% on Saturday, Feb. 2, compared to the prior day.
3. On-Demand Audio streams of “Chasing Colors” were up more than 500% on Sunday, February 3rd, compared to the baseline average from the prior week (Jan. 25-Feb.2).
4. On-Demand Video Streams of Marshmello & Logic’s “Everyday” were up 12,653% with a unit lift of nearly 9 Million streams on Saturday, Feb. 2, compared to the prior day.
